Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy is a medical procedure offered to our Lowville clients at our Burlington location used to eliminate spider veins.

Spider veins (also called telangiectasias) are clusters of tiny blood vessels that develop close to the surface of the skin. They are often red, blue, or purple; and they have the appearance of a spiderweb. They are commonly found on the face and legs.

How Does Sclerotherapy Work?

Sclerotherapy involves injecting small amounts of a sclerosing agent directly into the spider vein using a very small needle. The solution irritates the lining of the vessel wall, therefore causing it to stick together. The procedure, requires no anesthesia. Potential side effects include bruising, swelling, and slight skin discoloration.

Over a period of several weeks the vessel turns into a scar which fades away. Eventually, the vessel becomes barely visible or not visible at all!

Sclerotherapy Process

You can expect an improvement of approximately 80% in treated vessels. The number of sessions required depends upon the severity of the problem. A better assessment can be given during your complimentary consultation at our Burlington location serving Lowville clients.

All injections are performed by our qualified medical staff under supervision of Dr. McDonald, our supervising medical director.

Laser Therapy for Vein Treatment

Laser therapy is another alternative medical procedure that also can be performed in your physician's office. It is sometimes used as a complement to Sclerotherapy in order to maximize results. It is most effective for spider veins in legs and other parts of the body. For those individuals who do not like needles, this provides an alternative option, though your physician will counsel you on which treatment modality is best given your particular situation.

BTL EMSELLA is a new service now being offered here, and if you are someone like me who has lived her life with too many bathroom breaks, I would recommend giving this treatment a try. I have dealt with a sensitive bladder for most of my life, and to say the least, this has been inconvenient. I was getting up at least once a night and whenever I was out looking for the closest washroom. When I heard about this treatment being offered, I decided to give it a try. Six sessions over 3 weeks. Nothing invasive or painful. My experience so far has been liberating in that I am no longer having an interrupted sleep and can wander the mall for a few hours before scoping out the nearest washroom. In my opinion this has been totally worth it.

the BEST laser hair removal ever. I am so happy with my results, it has genuinely changed my life. I had issues my whole life shaving and getting insane irritation, but after a few sessions here my hair barely grows anymore. and it’s been about a year since I’ve had any treatments- still barely any hair growth. I went to a different med spa first and had 8 laser hair removal sessions which did nothing to reduce my hair growth. Then came to this clinic and i saw results after my first session. i’m telling you the laser is very effective and the technician is VERY thorough and gets all the spots. 10/10 if you want results and hair reduction give this a try I would recommend to everyone!!
