Skin growths are common. Some are harmless and can be safely removed, while others may require medical assessment to rule out more serious concerns. That is why an appointment with a medically trained skin care professional is recommended before choosing to have a mole, skin tag, wart, or keratosis removed.

Dr. McDonald at Laser Aesthetics has extensive knowledge and experience in assessing and treating common skin concerns. Book your consultation today to discuss your specific situation and appropriate treatment options.

Mole Removal Brantford

Mole Removal Clinic BrantfordMoles, also known as nevi, are common skin growths. They often appear as small brown or dark spots and are caused by clusters of pigmented cells. Moles commonly develop during childhood and adolescence. Most people have between 10 and 45 moles, and many appear before the age of 40. Some moles may fade or disappear over time.

Most moles are harmless. However, in rare cases, moles can become cancerous. Monitoring moles and other pigmented patches is an important part of detecting potential skin concerns, including malignant melanoma.

If you live in Brantford and have a mole that has changed in size, shape, colour, texture, or appearance, a medical assessment is recommended before considering removal.

Skin Tag Removal Brantford

Skin Tag Removal Clinic BrantfordSkin tags, also called acrochordons, are common benign skin growths. They often appear as small, soft, hanging pieces of skin and may develop on the neck, underarms, chest, groin, eyelids, or other areas where skin experiences friction.

Skin tags are harmless and can vary in number from one to many. Both men and women can develop skin tags. Although some skin tags may fall off on their own, most remain once they have formed.

Many people choose to have skin tags removed for cosmetic reasons or because they catch on clothing, jewelry, or shaving equipment and become irritated or bothersome.

Seborrheic Keratoses Removal Brantford

Seborrheic keratosis Removal Clinic BrantfordSeborrheic keratoses are among the most common non-cancerous skin growths in older adults. They may appear brown, black, or light tan and are often found on the face, chest, shoulders, back, or other areas of the body.

These growths can feel waxy, scaly, or slightly raised. Seborrheic keratoses do not become cancerous and are not believed to be directly related to sun exposure. However, they can sometimes resemble other skin conditions, which is why medical evaluation is important before removal.

Seborrheic keratoses are usually painless and may not require treatment. Some patients choose to have them removed if they become irritated by clothing, are frequently rubbed, or are cosmetically unwanted.

What to Expect at Your Consultation

Your visit begins with an assessment of the skin growth or lesion you want removed. Dr. McDonald will review the area, discuss your concern, and determine whether the lesion appears suitable for treatment in our clinic. If removal is appropriate, your treatment options and next steps will be explained clearly.

If a lesion requires further medical evaluation, you will be advised accordingly. Our goal is not just removal, but safe and appropriate care based on the nature of the growth.

BTL EMSELLA is a new service now being offered here, and if you are someone like me who has lived her life with too many bathroom breaks, I would recommend giving this treatment a try. I have dealt with a sensitive bladder for most of my life, and to say the least, this has been inconvenient. I was getting up at least once a night and whenever I was out looking for the closest washroom. When I heard about this treatment being offered, I decided to give it a try. Six sessions over 3 weeks. Nothing invasive or painful. My experience so far has been liberating in that I am no longer having an interrupted sleep and can wander the mall for a few hours before scoping out the nearest washroom. In my opinion this has been totally worth it.
