Dr. McDonald at Laser Aesthetics possesses extensive medical expertise in diagnosing and treating skin conditions. Schedule your appointment today to discuss your unique needs and explore effective solutions.

Medical Expertise You Can Trust

Skin growths are common, but their diagnosis is not always simple. Some are purely cosmetic, while others can be precursors to serious medical conditions.

  • Safety First: We strictly advise our Ancaster community to avoid at-home "DIY" kits or spa treatments for moles. Dr. McDonald ensures all procedures meet high clinical safety standards.
  • Medical Oversight: As a physician-led clinic, every growth is evaluated by a doctor prior to removal to ensure your long-term health is the priority.
  • Efficiency: Skip the 6-month wait times at local hospital clinics. We offer prompt, convenient scheduling for Ancaster and Hamilton residents.

Mole Removal in Ancaster

Mole Removal Clinic AncasterMoles (Nevi) are a common type of growth on the skin. They often appear as small, dark brown spots and are caused by clusters of pigmented cells. Moles generally appear during childhood and adolescence. Most people have 10 to 45 moles, almost all of which appear before age 40. Some moles may fade or disappear as you age.

Most moles are harmless. Rarely, they become cancerous. Monitoring moles and other pigmented patches is an important step in detecting skin cancer, especially malignant melanoma.

Frequently Asked Question for Ancaster Clients

Q: How long does the actual removal procedure take?

A: Most mole, skin tag, or keratosis removals are surprisingly quick, typically taking 15–30 minutes. You should plan for about one hour for your total visit, which includes your medical consultation with Dr. McDonald, local anesthesia (if required), and detailed aftercare instructions.

Q: What is the recovery time after the procedure?

A: There is minimal downtime. Most patients return to their daily routine immediately. The treated area will form a small scab that typically heals and falls off naturally within 7–14 days. We provide specific instructions to ensure the site heals with minimal visible marking.

Q: Why should I drive from Ancaster to Burlington instead of waiting for a local specialist?

A: Local hospital-based dermatology waitlists in the Hamilton/Ancaster area can often stretch to 6 months or longer. Our Burlington clinic offers an immediate alternative, providing high-quality, physician-led care just a 15–20 minute drive away via the Hwy 403. We prioritize prompt scheduling to give you peace of mind sooner.

BTL EMSELLA is a new service now being offered here, and if you are someone like me who has lived her life with too many bathroom breaks, I would recommend giving this treatment a try. I have dealt with a sensitive bladder for most of my life, and to say the least, this has been inconvenient. I was getting up at least once a night and whenever I was out looking for the closest washroom. When I heard about this treatment being offered, I decided to give it a try. Six sessions over 3 weeks. Nothing invasive or painful. My experience so far has been liberating in that I am no longer having an interrupted sleep and can wander the mall for a few hours before scoping out the nearest washroom. In my opinion this has been totally worth it.
